Dr. Timothy Friel D.V.M.
For more than forty-two years, Dr. Friel has dedicated his career to providing exceptional medical care for the pets of our community. His expertise spans all areas of veterinary medicine, whether he’s performing surgery, offering wellness advice, or comforting a worried pet parent, his compassion never wavers. Dr. Friel believes that every pet deserves the same level of care and respect as any family member. He has proudly owned and operated Westbrook Animal Hospital, guiding the clinic with integrity, compassion, and commitment to excellence. His philosophy has always been simple: to provide quality, affordable veterinary care while treating every patient as if they were his own. From routine checkups to complex surgeries, he approaches every case with patience, skill, and genuine concern for the pet’s well-being. Michelle, Veterinary Technician
Michelle has been an essential part of the Westbrook Animal Hospital family for many years, bringing warmth, dedication, and a wonderful sense of humor to our team. As an experienced veterinary technician, she works closely with Dr. Friel and the rest of the staff to provide compassionate, high-quality care to every patient that walks through our doors. Michelle has a special interest in client communication and education, and she’s known for her ability to make every visit a little brighter with her positivity and kindness. She takes great pride in helping clients understand their pets’ medical needs while ensuring each animal feels comfortable and loved during treatment.
Outside of the clinic, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, who are the heart of her world. Her caring nature, laughter, and dedication to animals make her a beloved member of both our team and the families we serve.
Lexi, Veterinary Technician
Lexi has been an integral part of the Westbrook Animal Hospital team for several years and brings her whole heart to every patient she meets. She believes in creating a calm and comfortable environment for every pet, taking the time to reassure nervous patients and educate their owners. Her professional interests include surgical and dental assistance, prevention , and client communication, but what she values most is helping owners feel informed and supported through all aspects of their pet’s care. She has a deep respect for the human–animal bond and believes every pet deserves to be treated with the same compassion and attention she would give her own. When she’s not at the clinic, Lexi can be found hiking with her dog, skiing during the winter months, or watching football, especially her beloved Patriots. Her empathy and devotion to her work make her an invaluable part of our team and a favorite among our clients.
Kim, Surgical Veterinary Technician
Kim brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our surgical team. With a strong background in anesthesia, dentistry, and shelter medicine, she provides exceptional care to every patient she sees. Her compassion and dedication to both people and pets shine through in everything she does. Kim has worked in high-volume spay/neuter clinics and even started her own businesses, but what truly defines her is the genuine care she gives to every animal. A skilled surgical technician, Kim’s steady hands and compassionate heart ensure every patient receives the highest level of care. Her incredible depth of experience, and her calm, reassuring presence helps clients feel at ease. Kim’s attention to detail and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable part of the Westbrook team!
Diana, Office Manager
Diana has been a part of the Westbrook Animal Hospital team for many years and has made a lasting impact through her compassion, creativity, and commitment to animal care. As our office manager and lead veterinary receptionist, she is often the voice and smile that greets clients, offering reassurance and guidance during every stage of their pet’s care. Diana assists with everything from client education and financial discussions to nutritional counseling or scheduling, she always takes the time to make sure clients feel supported and informed.
Outside the clinic, Diana’s love for animals continues through her volunteer work fostering dogs with the Pixel Fund. She’s also a talented creator who enjoys making jewelry, crafting custom cups, and designing thoughtful gifts. Her deep dedication to both pets and people reflects the spirit of our clinic, compassionate, family-oriented, and always focused on doing what’s best for every animal. Known for her generous heart and commitment, Diana embodies the compassion and community spirit that make Westbrook Animal Hospital so special.
Janet, Veterinary Receptionist
As a veterinary receptionist, she plays a key role in making sure clients and their pets feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door. She assists with scheduling appointments, answering questions, and helping guide clients through their pet’s care needs, whether it’s booking a puppy vaccine visit or preparing for a spay or neuter surgery.
Janet brings warmth and organization to the front desk at Westbrook Animal Hospital. Janet takes pride in making sure every visit goes smoothly and that clients leave feeling informed and supported. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening, traveling, and occasionally taking spontaneous solo adventures. Her passion and reliability make her a valued member of our front desk staff. Her friendly nature and eagerness to help make her a wonderful part of the Westbrook team!
Heather, Veterinary Technician
Heather is one of our compassionate veterinary technicians here at Westbrook Animal Hospital. She brings an enthusiastic and caring approach to everything she does, from assisting in wellness exams and nail trims to helping ensure our patients are comfortable during their visits. Heather is passionate about creating a calm, positive environment for both pets and their families, taking the time to make sure every client feels heard and every animal feels safe.
Her gentle touch and patient nature make her a favorite among our furry friends, and she’s always willing to lend a hand wherever she’s needed around the clinic. Outside of work, Heather manages a kennel and grooming business, enjoys photography (especially of animals), and has a well-known love for creative pet names. Her friendly personality and genuine care for animals make her a wonderful part of our team.
Paula, Veterinary Receptionist
Paula joined Westbrook Animal Hospital with a passion for helping animals and the people who love them. As part of our front desk team, she assists with appointment scheduling, client communication, and welcoming patients into the clinic. Her friendly personality and calm demeanor help create the warm, family-like environment our clients know and appreciate.
Paula is continuously learning and growing in her role, and she takes great joy in seeing pets receive the care they deserve. As she continues to grow in her role, Paula is eager to learn more about veterinary care and support the team in any way she can. Dr. Paul Rudenberg D.V.M
Dr. Paul is a veterinarian who occasionally joins the Westbrook Animal Hospital team to provide compassionate care for a wide variety of animals. With extensive experience in both companion animal and farm animal medicine, he brings a versatile and well-rounded perspective to the clinic. In addition to caring for dogs and cats, Dr. Paul has a special interest in livestock and small farm animals, including goats, sheep, and poultry.
His visits often bring a little extra excitement to the clinic, it’s not unusual to see a goat or a bird in the exam room when he’s around! He is known for his calm, kind nature and his patient approach with both animals and their owners. He takes time to explain treatment options clearly, ensuring clients feel confident and supported in their pet’s care. His dedication to providing high-quality, compassionate medicine aligns perfectly with Westbrook Animal Hospital’s mission to treat every animal as if they were part of our own family.
