Your pet’s safety is our top priority. Because medications affect each pet differently, prescriptions are carefully selected and approved by our veterinary team based on your pet’s individual needs.
Some medications require annual or more frequent exams, depending on the drug and your pet’s health status.
Federal and state law require that a valid veterinary-client-patient relationship (VCPR) be established before medications can be prescribed. This typically means your pet must have had a recent exam with one of our veterinarians.
Refills: Please allow 24–48 business hours for prescription refill requests. Refill approval depends on your pet being current on exams and required testing.
Certain medications (such as pain medications, anxiety medications, or long-term medications) may require recheck exams or lab work before refills can be authorized.
Pharmacy Options: We offer a variety of medications in-clinic for your convenience but some medications can be called out to human pharmacies such as CVS, Walgreens, Hannaford, Walmart, Sams Club, etc
Written prescriptions or online pharmacy requests may be provided upon request.
Please note: we can only approve prescriptions from licensed and reputable pharmacies.
Compounded Medications: Some pets benefit from compounded medications (custom strengths, flavors, or forms). These are prepared by specialized pharmacies and may require additional processing time.
Important Reminders: Never give your pet medication prescribed for another animal or person.
Always follow dosing instructions exactly as prescribed. Contact us immediately if your pet experiences side effects, vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or behavioral changes.
